Move all traditional Hangouts to Hangouts Meet

What’s new: March 2017, Google released Hangouts Meet – New generation video conferencing solution for businesses. After receiving positive feedback from the first customers to use Meet, starting on May 29, Hangouts Meet was put into use by Google for customers who automatically upgraded to Google update schedule.

Along with that, all the latest events created on Google Calendar will contain Hangouts Meet information. However, previously created meetings will not be affected by these changes.

These changes are expected to roll out in June. In case admins want users to book meetings using Hangouts Classic (the traditional version of Hangouts) instead of Meet during this transition period, go to Admin Console: Apps > G Suite > Google Hangouts > Meeting Settings and uncheck the “New meeting experience” box.

Additionally, to make sure your business has a seamless transition to Meet, Google has added Meet compatibility with FireFox (since version 60). Unlike the classic Hangouts version, Meet uses the original WebRTC protocol, so users will not be required to download any good software. which plugin when using Meet on FireFox.
