A GKE environment consists of multiple machines (specifically Compute Engine instances) grouped together to form a cluster.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GKE clusters are powered by the open source cluster management system Kubernetes. Kubernetes provides the mechanisms through which you interact with your cluster.
