Google continues to improve the menu section in Google Docs, Slides

What’s changing: Based on usage data and user feedback, Google has made changes to the menu (category) and toolbar (toolbar) in Google Docs and Slides on the Web. They are similar to previous changes and will make it easier to find certain items. Among them, a few typical changes include:

Features to add a line or page break in Docs:

To add Alt text to shapes in Docs and Slide

  • Before: Choose Shape > Format > Alt text. This option will be removed from the menu
  • Now: Right click on Shape > Alt Text. This is a new way to add Alt text to shapes.
  • See the Help Center for more details: Make your document or presentation accessible

*Alt text is text used to describe certain elements (images, shapes, etc.) on the page that cannot be read by the user.
