Instructions for using the Google Workspace Administrator account

The Google Workspace admin account is a special account that allows you to manage your Google Workspace customer for an organization. This account provides access to the Google Admin Console, where you can perform user-related tasks. If you're managing an organization that uses Google Workspace services, you should create an administrator account. This account will help you ensure that these services are used safely and effectively.

What is Google Workspace Administrator?

A Google Workspace Administrator is someone who manages and configures Google Workspace accounts for their organization. Google Workspace administrators have access to the Google Workspace Admin Console so they can manage all functions and aspects of their Google Workspace account, including:

  • End users: Administrators can create, delete, and manage user accounts. They can also reset users' passwords and grant access to Google Workspace features and services.
  • Devices: Admins can manage the devices used to access Google Workspace. They can request two-factor authentication and remove the device from their Google Workspace account.
  • Data: Admins can manage data stored in Google Workspace. They can export data, delete data, and set data security policies.
  • Settings: Admins can manage Google Workspace settings. They can turn features on and off, set up rules, and generate reports.

Google Workspace Admin role for the following:

  • End users: Log in to your Admin account

To sign in to your Admin account, you need to visit the Google Workspace Admin Console website with your administrator account. You can find a link to this website in your account confirmation email.

  • Add users

To add users, you need to visit the Google Workspace Admin Console website and select the Users tab. Then, click the Add User button and enter the new user's information.

  • Edit username

To edit your username, you need to visit the Google Workspace Admin Console website and select the Users tab. Then, find the user whose name you want to edit and click the Edit button. You can edit your username, display name, email address, and more.

  • Change Password

To change a user's password, you need to visit the Google Workspace Admin Console website and select the Users tab. Then, find the user whose password you want to change and click the Change Password button. You can enter a new password and confirm password.

  • Login authentication

To enable two-factor login authentication (2FA) for users, you need to visit the Google Workspace Admin Console website and select the Users tab. Then, find the user you want to enable 2FA for and click the Enable Login Authentication button.

  • Delete the account

To delete a user account, you need to visit the Google Workspace Admin Console website and select the Users tab. Then, find the user you want to remove and click the Remove button.

  • Change Google workspace to Vietnamese

To change Google workspace to Vietnamese, you need to visit the Google Workspace Admin Console website and select the Settings tab. Then, scroll down to the Language section and select Vietnamese.

  • Create a group in Google Workspace

To create a group in Google Workspace, you need to visit the Google Workspace Admin Console website and select the Groups tab. Then, click the Create Group button and enter the new group's information.

  • Add and change Google Workspace account administrators

To add or change Google Workspace account administrators, you need to visit the Google Workspace Admin Console website and select the Admin tab. Then, click the Add Administrator button and enter the new administrator's information.

  • Insert logo into Google Workspace

To insert a logo into Google Workspace, you need to visit the Google Workspace Admin Console website and select the Settings tab. Then, scroll down to the Logo section and upload your logo.

  • Restore

To recover a user account, you need to visit the Google Workspace Admin Console website and select the Users tab. Then, find the user you want to restore and click the Restore button.

  • Decentralization

To assign permissions to users, you need to visit the Google Workspace Admin Console website and select the Decentralize tab. You can then grant users access to Google Workspace apps and services.

Other features

The “Enable services in Google Workspace Administrator account” feature allows domain administrators to enable or disable Google Workspace services for users in the domain. This feature can be used to control user access to Google Workspace services.

To enable services in the Google Workspace Administrator account, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to the Google Admin console.
  2. Click Applications.
  3. In the Services tab, click Add service.
  4. Select the service you want to enable.
  5. Click Add.

  • Drive: Allows users to store and share files.
  • Sheets: Allows users to create and edit spreadsheets.
  • Docs: Allows users to create and edit documents.

  • Slides Editor for the Web: Allows users to edit presentations on the web.
  • Sites Editor for the Web: Allows users to edit sites on the web.
  • Currents Editor for the Web: Allows users to edit content on the web.
  • Gmail for Education: Allows users to use Gmail for educational purposes.
  • Drive for Education: Allows users to use Drive for educational purposes.
  • Classroom for Education: Allows teachers to use Classroom for educational purposes.
  • Jamboard for Education: Allows teachers to use Jamboard for educational purposes.
  • Sheets Editor for Education: Allows users to edit spreadsheets for educational purposes.
  • Docs Editor for Education: Allows users to edit documents for educational purposes.
  • Slides Editor for Education: Allows users to edit presentations for educational purposes.
  • Sites Editor for Education: Allows users to edit websites for educational purposes.
  • Currents Editor for Education: Allows users to edit content for educational purposes.
  • Google Workspace for Nonprofits: Enables nonprofits to use Google Workspace.
  • Google Workspace for Government: Allows government agencies to use Google Workspace.

Once you enable a service, users in your domain will be able to access that service. You can control user access to services using permission settings.
