Google Meet improves meeting attendee reporting

overview

Previously, Google launched attendance reporting in Google Meet for educational level meetings. Google is currently making several improvements to provide more access, control, and visibility to meeting and live streaming reports. Specifically, we are adding:

  • Live stream viewership data. Reports that include live stream viewer data will now be in a separate tab. Live stream data will include total concurrent viewers and viewers throughout the live stream.
  • Admin control is based on tracking attendance. Admins can choose whether the organizational unit can use the attendance tracking feature or not.
  • New settings to control report generation. Meeting organizers who are not part of Education domains can choose to generate a report for the meeting through in-meeting settings or from a Calendar event before the meeting starts. Meeting organizers in Education domains will continue to automatically receive attendance reports for meetings with five or more participants.
  • Number of on-call viewers for live streams. Live stream hosts and meeting attendees (not live stream viewers) will now see the total number of live stream participants through Google Meet from desktop or personal computers.
  • Attendance reports for more customers. We're providing attendance reporting to Google Workspace Essentials, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus customers. Previously, they were only available to Enterprise for Education customers.
