Google offers free Hangouts Meet premium features for all G Suite users during the Covid 19 pandemic

In the context of the epidemic Covid-19 As developments become increasingly complicated, businesses and schools are forced to choose online learning to limit community spread. With the goal of joining hands in fighting the epidemic, Google has launched a campaign to allow users G Suite in all versions get free use of the premium feature of Hangouts Meet which is only available for G Suite Enterprise and G Suite Enterprise for Education.

The goal of the campaign is to help customers stay in touch and ensure work productivity through G Suite while working online during the epidemic season. Premium features of Hangouts Meet include:

• Larger scale of up to 250 people participating in each online meeting
• Live streaming feature for up to 100K people within the same domain
• Record meetings to Google Drive

These features will be available to all users for free Workspace G Suite until July 1, 2020.

How to apply

1. For administrators: You can enable streaming and recording for your organization.
2. G Suite Basic, Business, and Nonprofit customers: These premium features default to OFF and can be enabled at the domain, OU, and group levels.
3. The client version G Suite for Education: These premium features default to OFF and can be enabled at the domain, OU, and group levels. See the Help Center Q&A for education-specific questions about enabling Meet and these features.
4. For end users: Once the feature has been enabled in the Admin console, end users can stream and record meetings. Access the following tutorials to learn how to create, stream, and record meetings online.

• Access to these premium features will be rolling out this week and will likely be available to all G Suite users within 2-3 weeks
• Applicable subjects are all customers G Suite
